Self conquest brings about perpetual calm. Calmness is the radiant light which adds a lustre to all virtues. As you acquire calmness, you acquire influence, power, greatness, abiding joy and fulness and completeness of life.
Calmness is difficult to attain because men cling blindly to the lower disturbances of the mind for the passing pleasure which those disturbances afford. One sure way to find peace is for you to conquer your weaknesses by daily effort, you must understand them and find out how to eliminate them from your character. You have to continue to strive, don't give way and you will gradually become victorious. For every victory gained will bring about so much calmness.
By constantly winning the battle over yourself, you begin to gain knowledge of the subtle intricacies of your mind and its the divine knowledge which enables you to become firm in calmness. Without self knowledge you can't have abiding peace of mind and if you are carried away by tempestuous passions, you cannot approach the holy place where calmness reigns.
Calmness is the crowing beauty of a character that has become divine and restful and peace giving to all who come in contact with it. A calm mind which is not disturbed or overthrown by trials and emergencies or by accusations, slanders and misrepresentations of others is of great spiritual strength and it is a true indication of an enlightened and wise understanding.
The man who is calm has discovered the spring of happiness and knowledge within himself and the spring can never run dry. He has absolute control over himself and attains stillness like the surface of a still lake. The calm man succeeds were the disturbed man fails. The calm mind perceives difficulty in all its bearings and understands how best to meet it.
As you strive and attain calmness you will feel strength ad rest, love and wisdom. In you, you will find yourself winning innumerable battles against yourself.
You are a success, only strive to conquer yourself and attain calmness for you to be resourceful
