FG sets up committee to rescue abducted Chibok girls

President Goodluck Jonathan has set up a committee yesterday to map out strategies to rescue the more than 200 abducted female students of Government Secondary School Chibok in Borno State.
Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, said in a statement that the committee, whose work would largely be fact finding, would liaise with the Borno State government and establish the circumstances leading to the school remaining open for boarding students when other schools were closed.
The committee will be inaugurated on Tuesday, will also liaise with relevant authorities and the parents of the missing students to establish the actual number and identities of girls abducted; interface with the security services and Borno state to ascertain how many of the girls have returned; mobilise the surrounding communities and the general public to support the rescue strategy and operation among other terms of reference.
Members of the committee include Brig. Gen. Ibrahim A. Sabo (rtd.), as the chairman, with the permanent secretary (Special Services Office) in the office of the SGF, as secretary.
