Achieving financial freedom cost nothing. It's not a gift and it's not easy but it's free. What cost money are all the things you buy which prevents you from saving, investing and reaching the winner's circle. When you save money, you pay yourself and the more you pay yourself, the sooner you can buy your freedom and live that lifestyle you have always wanted.
One reason why most people are not committed to saving, is that they do not realise that small savings compounded over time can be the difference between poverty and delayed financial freedom. Another reason is unwillingness to invest some of today's earnings to build a better tomorrow. The biggest reason lies in glorification of spenders and ridicule savers. Big spenders are portrayed as rich, successful, generous and popular.
In addition to demeaning thrift, movies and television regularly portray wealthy people and business owners as treacherous villains.
Our society is very ambivalent about wealth but we frown on doing what it takes to achieve it and tend to distrust those who have it.
