CHILD UPBRINGING

Child upbringing is nurturing a child from infancy to other stages: toddler, puberty, adolescence and adulthood. Training or rearing period is the most delicate in human life. This moment is also most crucial to women. They must be well informed on infant and child growth and development. Uninformed women without the basic knowledge of child upbringing are dangerous to the society. What about the proper health care of the infant or child? This is most crucial because the infant or a child's organs are immature and any infection that targets these organs hits hard on the child's general well being. A child may be seen this minute jumping around and playing with his or her peers only to be down with chills, colds and general body malaise the next minute. The situation could turn tragic if proper care is not given promptly. This period is also the most trying time for the parents and that is why the much clamored saying of women empowerment must be given proper attention. Information is power, and when a woman avails herself of proper information of what goes on in the life of a child at every stage of growth, potential threat to health could be identified and prevented before they occur. Several cases of permanent injuries, death and setbacks that have been recorded during childhood may have been caused by poor handling of children by their uninformed parents. In this information age ignorance is unpardonable.
